Miré la Lluvia Gritar Hacia el Mar (2017)
Piano and Violin (11.5 mins)
A reflection and response to the hurricanes that hit Haiti and the Caribbean in 2016, Miré la Lluvia Gritar Hacia el Mar (I Watched the Rain Scream toward the Sea) was written to imitate different forms and descriptions of water. The title was inspired by a rain storm I encountered in Switzerland. Water rushed violently towards the lake, violently dragging debris with a whim, yet by morning, as the water reached is final resting place and the rain stopped, everything felt calm and peaceful, as if none of it ever took place.
